An interconnected world needs an interconnected solution.

Shut down the world for 14 days starting Monday 22nd March, 2020.
    Essential services excluded.
    Freeze all financials.
Deal with the Pandora's box the shutdown creates.
The world is not prepared for this situation.

Governments have to jump on this NOW. It needs to happen concurrently.

So, it started yesterday with closing Bondi Beach.
I would have thought sun, surf, sand, salty sea water would be a good sanitiser...
Or maybe it's just the gross incompetence of the NSW government (after their failures with the bush fires in this state of NSW)

They feel the need to be seen doing something... how many times can they let the buck be passed to the Federal government for their negligence?
What about Coogee Beach. It's a smaller beach and just as popular as Bondi...? Then we have Manly Beach...?

Not enough test kits, hospitals and clinics, staff and doctors are all ready flat out.
Resources are stretched past breaking point already.
Everybody is eyeing anybody with a cough.
The season is changing, colds and flu's are common with the season.

If everybody just went for a dip and a sunbake, no problem, but the social life around Bondi is pretty intense.

Plus the boofhead overseas backpackers that dodged the quarantine period and then tested positive to the virus at Bondi may have exacerbated the decision.

Probably all young and hardly infected … but by disrespecting our countries requirements and wellbeing, have most likely gone about infecting countless others with a yet to be realised exponential flow on effect …. Selfish:mad:

That's exactly what it is. Sunlight kills viruses.

Bondi Beach was probably the safest place on the planet.

School classes could spend more time outside.

I’ve heard a few people call for a 14 day shutdown...who knows what the answer is. I am curious however, why 14 days? Why not 7, 10, 30 or more days.

14 days is an arbitrary figure.... the idea is to limit movement, contain further spread.
Probably should be talking weeks rather than days..., and really 4 weeks is probably better, for as the oirish say, "to be sure, to be sure".
Incubation period 5~7 days they think.
14 days to hopefully get over it if contracted. Then another week...
Let's round it to 4 weeks...
    I don't know.
What I do know is, I am thankful that we live in Australia, the lucky country.
China, whilst they have provided stimulus to their market's, the People are not getting any stimulus that I know of...
The stimulus they did provide was something to do with maintaining bonds values.... but bond's, currency movements etc are things I really don't understand as I am not edumucated in those areas.
    I'm all ears.

Where did the pommys use to go on holidays for a healthy perk up?

14 days was initially the agreed amount of time it would take for any signs to show up, if infected, so after 14 days people know whether they need to see the Doc or self isolate for further time …. so a critical time in slowing cross infection.

If .. if:rolleyes: we had enough test kits, anyone showing signs after 14 days could/should be tested, then quarantined which would further slow the spread.

I think it is now 3-5 day turn around after being tested to get results but that probably varies.

So 19 days and we would know who needed attention etc. (Rinse and repeat)

The amount of test kits is the problem world wide:( Bit like putting band aids on an amputated arm unfortunately.
