I definitely do not have the skills or interests to do short term trading. More interested in medium to long term. Just curious to know which companies have gone completely under and no longer list with the ASX.
I am trying to gain some sense of the prospects of ASX stocks in the micro cap category. I know in the U.S they refer to them as penny dreadfuls and are generally not well regarded by the establishment, until of course they emerge as the next Apple or Walmart. I understand they represent high...
I'm more of FA type of investor for the mid to long term. I'm interested in combining this with a bit of TA so I can better time my entries and exits. My problem is limited time. By way of accelerating my learning in this area I was wondering is there any software out there (free or paid) that...
Anyone know why you have to deposit funds in order to make a sell trade on Etoro? Doesn't make any sense to me. Its asking for a deposit equal to the amount I want to sell! I can only assume it is some glitch in their system and I am still waiting on a reply from them.
I switched my super from Australian shares to "Overseas Shares" about a month or two ago but they have only gone down since. Any thoughts why? I heard that international shares were the go for 2017 ( I'm assuming overseas and international shares are the same thing?)
Appreciate any thoughts.
I am wondering what people think would be the best superannuation investment option (non SMSF) in terms of highest growth potential. International shares? Aggressive? Australian Shares? Appreciate your thoughts and reasons for each.

I guess this is a question about timing the market. So what do folk recommend in regard to Super - set and forget your investment options or switch to lower risk options if you sense a downturn up ahead?
Any basic clues how a person might predict a downturn?
Ps For those interested (and I...
I am also considering the 'build your own options' feature within my exisitng super fund (Catholic Super). The options are Australian Australian Shares
Overseas Shares

Diversified Fixed Interest
FlexiTerm Deposit
Cash
I would have a mix of course but should I favour Australian or...
One suggested addition: could add company category column:
Automobiles & Components
Banks
Capital Goods
Class Pend
Commercial Services & Supplies
Consumer Durables & Apparel
Consumer Services
Diversified Financials
Energy
Food, Beverage & Tobacco
Health Care Equipment & Services...
THis is terrific- thanks WW! I am going to use this as a way of making sense of all the ASX data. I'm also adding a "commentary" column for my own use to note key observations on my filtered stocks. Top stuff!:)
Thanks for those insights.
Since yesterday, I've been looking into another alternative which is a superannuation fund that allows you to pick your own stocks (not just your risk profile). THere's one called Netwealth and they offer a product called Super Accelerator Plus . Anyone come across it...
