Another sad loss to the business community and the Australian community in general today.
My parents have told me stories about when they were living in the Fairfield area, they can remember the first Bing Lee store and said that they were very nice people.
Apparently they now have a turn over of $400 million plus.
He and his son are a true example of what can be achieved in this great country of ours.
R.I.P Ken Lee.
Ken Lee, chairman and co-founder of Bing Lee has died at the age of 75.
The Chinese immigrant and his father, Bing Lee, opened the first store in Fairfield in 1957.
The first store was designed to serve the electrical product needs of migrants drawn to hostel accommodation around the Fairfield/Villawood area.
Itís now grown to a chain of 35 stores spread from Canberra to Port Macquarie.
