I am continually upset and disgusted at the fees, perks and low price options taken for company funds by company directors. I am interested to hear if others feel the same way as I do. I speak from experience as I have been in the position to receive an annual fee of $50,000 for attending a few meetings and discussing business in much the same way as this forum is conducted, nothing requiring any superhuman effort. The company involved wasn't making a profit. My only input was ininiate the eventual winding up of the company. I did not draw the fee as there was better use for the funds in a business going out backwards but I could have done so when the funds were there.
I have also been in the position of managing a business,( large enough to have 500+ employees) where the staff ran the business with very little help from the directors. In fact the Chairman was not in any way up to date on the affairs of the company, held the position because of his family interests, and was very well rewarded.
I read the same thing into many of the annual reports of a lot of listed companies.
