Default Newbie question on bid and offer price

This is probably a stupid question but I've noticed that for some stocks, the bid price is higher than offer price when the market is closed. Often, there is a huge difference between the two.
Does this necessarily indicate that the price of those stocks will go up when the market opens?

    Hi coladuna

Maybe have a look at these two pages on the ASX website and hopefully all will become clearer.

There is a truck load of info on the ASX site on how the market works if interested
