Default Tech/a's Technical Charts of Interest

    Greetings.

    Been trading Stock again.
Rather than have $$s doing nothing thought Id put some to work.
Every week I search out Charts of interest.

    Some I take
Some are discarded if they lapse.
    Some stay on watch.

A lot I will MISS being busy with
other things as it takes off without me!

While not all those I follow will appear here
it doesn't take long to take a shot
and post them up. Very basic chart notation
to show what caught my eye.

    Maybe of interest to some.

Ill revisit the WEEKLY post to summarize and post
    up another lot.

No this will not be a trading thread.
    Perhaps an opportunity thread.

    Comments and discussion welcome.

    Looking forward to following tech.

There's been some good discussions on ASF lately, great to see it continuing along

Just to get the ball rolling with a question.

Do you use any scanning criteria to narrow down the number of charts you look at or do you scroll through each stock's chart? ie. Perhaps a scan that looks for stocks that have risen x% over the last week with x,000 shares traded, as an example.

    Yes I have a few.

Firstly I scan for a universe of stocks below $10 and
Meeting a liquidity requirement this week that was 190
    Stocks then------

To find patterns I run a search with (as an example)
Highest high value for x days
As part of the condition I will in bed an alert for this
To have occurred in the Past x days,2,3,4,5,6,7 so
The condition will have been met and then x days will
    Have passed.

    Thanks for that.

You've done a lot of "follow my trade" type threads in the past and most here would have an idea of how you manage trades etc.

You know more than most how much time goes into keeping those type of threads updated (Peter2's current one as an example) so don't feel compelled to keep track of a portfolio etc. but it's always interesting to see what stocks/patterns etc. that other traders notice. Thanks for taking the time to post your charts, hopefully some new (and old!) traders will learn something along the way.

This gives rise to patterns which form after a trigger
Criteria has been met. The pattern will be from
2 to 7 bars long. I'm looking for momentum specifically
    Anticipation of momentum to continue.

That's the next step in the analysis. I have the charts of
Interest and now I will do a number of things.

I draw where practical the pattern or singularity that
Has me interested ( perhaps a gap or unusual volume )
If I like the story the chart is telling me---eg grouped or
Singular volume which indicates effort or prolonged effort
Or demand over coming supply Or very little supply.
Often compared with pre feeding bars.

I'm looking for that common face I know.
My buy is often set at a point outside the pattern so that
Price action has to prove that my anticipation of continued
Momentum is founded---to the best of my analytical ability
And to the action of other participants in the stock.

My stop is as close as I can get it to allow the pattern to fail.
The initial buy outside the pattern often eeps me out of those
Trades that look brilliant only to not develop. My experience is
patience is far cheaper than in patience. ( un qualified anticipation)

Once in the trade I will monitor price action carefully.
Looking to hold or sell. Rarely is a stop hit as I'll exit before it if
I can see price action that indicates it's just going to munch money.

I'll also be looking at reasons to take profit. Once in profit I will give
    Room for pattern development.
No patterns spells danger in a trend. Clumps of bars with no readable
Pattern tend to be stock/trades to avoid.

I use Fixed Fractional Position sizing and often add if patterns
Develop during a trade.Rarely does a stock trade last more than a month
-----these days-----and often profit it taken in a week

Most of the patterns you've highlighted in the charts are fairly self explanatory but one in particular caught my eye and that's CXO.

There's a big gap up, it's approaching a recent high, what sort of pattern are you looking to develop over the next few days (eg. a break through the old high, an inside bar, low volume flag type pattern)?

I don't know what it will do
But hat gap took a lot of effort.
I'm looking to see if it sustains
    The move.
Consolidation inside the bar or the combination of both
    Bars would be ideal.

Hi tech, so all those charts are potential longs right?
    Statistics: 172 Closed Trades since July 07, Trades: Winners 135 - Losers 37, Expectancy/$1 Risked: $0.78

All of them are of interest to me
I'm only looking at them on the long side.
    Some are prime
    Some are under development.
There are 4 I really like

    Before tomorrows open
One I've not posted is RAP---

My top likes from this lot (above) are
    RAP
    NSL
    ACB
    CDV in that order.

I expect tomorrow to be a bearish day
so highly likely a lot of these will remain
in consolidation without a clear direction.

Will see how the week pans out.

On holiday in Bali and couldn't resist having a play. Thanks Tech.
The uncertainty in my mind if due to he US election. If Trump wins the debate we could have a serious pullback.

He is a much better public performer than Hillary.
She is hopeless at that but much smarter than him.
I think the US mob is looking for a smack down.
She should stop trying to talk tough, makes her look stupid and horrible.
I'm voting for Hillary, well, virtually.
    Forgive me I'm dyslexic.

Will now allow to run the week.

    Managed to get on one.
Wont comment on every trade I enter but
    happy to discuss any chart.
Want this to be more a charts of interest thread and
    why--if asked.

I see RAP at a top. What is your plan for length of hold time? Have you move to break even including brokerage costs yet?

CXO is making its move today. Thanks for the heads-up, tech
and it looks as if it could drag KSN with it. Speccie Nearology, but it could be worth a punt for those of us who, like me, missed the CXO train.

I'm looking for reasons to keep holding.
Todays pivot reversal isn't one of them.
Could be a short hold this trade.

Yes a strong chart from the beginning.
I see this a lot and it may have been you who mentioned a friend who
is a trader who loves these---not afraid to ride one that's got going before you notice it.
Like when I first bought it up.
I checked the 5 min chart and there was plenty opportunity to see this was going to fly after
the announcement.----if of course you checked the chart at 10 am not at close like I did.
The only one I didn't have on screen!

Plenty knew something was going to happen before us!

Got some NSL on its lows.
