Default Costa Rica, a good investment?

    Hi,
I'm thinking of investing in a 800sqm plot at costa rica country club and resort, this would be my first property investment, online it all looks good, from what i can see construction is under way and everything looks good. Does anybody has any insight on this development or has invested there themselves? Any advice would be appreciated,
    Thanks,
    shanello

Funnily enough, my Dad is about to buy a place there and retire there. (parents got divorced last year and Dad wants a fresh start).

From what he has said land is cheap and so is construction. Not sure if you really need to invest in a country club/resort.

I think you need to earn $1,000/month for a residency visa. Sorry don't have any links. I think my dad did an investment visa though.

LOL somehow i was thinking about Puerto Rico with my earlier comment.

    ------------------------

Costa Rica is a different kettle of fish...Costa Rica is considered a slightly up market version of Panama, personally i would prefer Panama as its more of a structured wild west than Costa Rica is, everything is easier in Panama and there right next door to each other so Panama is the go IMO, everything is easier in Panama.

Spanish is a must have for a successful life/retirement in Central American country...there are cheap on-line Spanish lessons that can be had where you cam chat with a Panamanian for lessons...there is a growing expat community in the mountain (cool) town of Boquete out near the Costa Rican border.

And Las Tables looks to be a nice place as well...cooled by Humboldt currant winds from the south Pacific and only a couple of hours to Panama city.
