Default Keeping the Last price to the Low side

I have noticed recently looking at the depth and price that when ever a sale is made at the ask price say 499 straight away a sale of only 1 - 8 shares at 498 the lower bid price is bought to obviously make the last price say the 498.

Is this to trick or fool indicators that the price was allways on the sell side.

My question probably makes no sense but was wanting to know the reason behind people only buing $10 worth of shares.

    Algorithmic Trading, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algorithmic_trading

You should probably search the threads before posting as this gets covered a lot.

It's not whether you're right or wrong that's important, but how much money you make when you're right and how much you lose when you're wrong.
