It strikes me that one of the best investments you can make (along with paying off debt) is to set up an energy neutral home. Our energy costs (especially electricity) keep rising every year and any carbon tax will probably send it through the roof here in Victoria given our brown coal reliance.
I am a novice in this area so was hoping to hear from any other ASF members who are partially or fully on the path to having an energy neutral house. This includes:
1. ideas, gadgets, costs and cost savings;
2. access to resources (esp. on-line);
3. rebates; and
4. future trends.
The obvious ones that I know of at the moment is insulation and solar panels. In terms of solar, I would be very interested in people who have managed to set up a system where they sell energy back to the grid.
