The US OTC derivatives market became a self-perpetuating time-bomb under the tenure of Alan Greenspan. Here's a story about one regulators lost fight to bring about some transparency at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
Should government get out of the way and let Mr.Market decide as per Peter Schiff, Ayn Rand, Alan Greenspan, John Reed etc..? ->
Or is there a place for Government to create regulations in order to deter market participants from acting fraudulently?
