This is for those who don't believe in a supernatural afterlife or are willing to assume for the sake of the question that there is no supernatural afterlife.
Most of us who are moving on in years often wish we could be young again. But what if you could choose to be reborn after you die. There is only one catch. Who you come back as will be totally at random. You could be any one of the 131 million babies born every year.
The chances of being born to a middle-class Australia family are very slim. The odds are in favour of you being born to some poverty stricken family in a third world country. You would have a high chance of being born in a war torn country. Of being repressed physically and politically.
Few alive want to die, even those living in horrible circumstances. But would you chose to be reborn after you die when you could come back as anybody?
I wouldn't risk it. If I could live my life all over again, yes. But to be randomly any baby born in a year with the odds of having a pleasant life very much stacked against me. Definitely NO.
