I've been trying to setup an ETrade account. I live in Japan and setup the Japanese one smoothly. The Australian one though, is causing me some concern.
I was recently back in Australia, so I got my certified document copy sorted there and posted it off. I heard nothing from them, and I finally emailed them. They told me the accounts department couldnt accept the document as it wasnt certified correctly. I'm sure it was certified correctly, because I made sure to double & triple check. Anyway, personally I just think they lost it, and are making some BS excuse up.
Now I'm back in Japan, the bloody Aussie consulate will charge me to use their frigging services for getting another document certified. I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle. Maybe I should give ETrade Australia the middle finger and open an IB account instead...
(And for my final ranting comment: WTH cant more countries have a level of service like Japan /sigh)
