Was listening to the radio this afternoon and the obligatory "name the next line" competition came on and I knew what it was, typically always do and I reflected as to why I know all these song lyrics and stories of old rockers that were big a very long time before I was born.
I had a teacher at primary school (Grade 6) back in the 80's and he had a serious bent toward 50's/60's music. A large part of our week, usually all Friday afternoon was spent studying music from the Rock & Roll era through to the swinging sixties. Each week, out of his own pocket, he would buy a class "music trivia" competition winner a single and and every month would buy the class competition winner a LP.
Terry Newton was his name and whilst I have fond memories of several teachers, the individual things he taught me have stuck like glue over the past couple of decades.
So, which teachers do you remember & why?
