Does anyone have any recommendations for online IQ tests? I'm currently acting as a support worker to 48 year old schizophrenic chap who exists on a Disability Support Pension. He had minimal education, has considerable difficulty with reading, writing, comprehension and numbers. He's one of many the governments, both federal and state, pronounced to be "better off being cared for in the community than vegetating in an institution". Yeah, right. The reality is that these people are not cared for in the community, other than a brief contact with the local Community Mental Health Social Worker. This bloke lives a vulnerable existence in a dismal caravan park where various criminals and other street-smart individuals take advantage of his anxiety to feel accepted and "borrow" money from him etc. Sorry, that was probably an excessive amount of background.
This sad chap has developed an obsession about knowing what his IQ is. Apparently several years ago some Community Mental Health social worker did an IQ test which came out at about 40. (My guess is that that would probably be about right for him, sadly.) I've had a look on the net and most of them seem to get you to do the test and then give your credit card no. before supplying the results.
Does anyone know where I could obtain some hard copy IQ tests which he could work through with assistance, obviously not really to obtain an accurate assessment of his IQ, but simply to allow him to deal with this stuff that is really obsessing him?
Joe, I hope this isn't too far off the type of subject matter for ASF, but I've run out of ideas here and would be really grateful for any suggestions from anyone as to how I can add a little benefit to this sad life before he makes yet another suicide attempt.
Thanks to you all,
