I think one day it might be of some use to know few tricks how to prolong life in adverse conditions.
Without water we can expect to last no longer than 6 days.
Without food we should be able to fully recover after about couple of weeks. We will live, but with many complications if we didn't eat for about 2 months.
Once I heard magic number that death comes after 66 days, but most probably this varies.
Definitely helps to eat something, not necessarily food, in order to save intestines from collapsing.
Saving body heat greatly helps survival too even in 28 or 30 degrees tropics; negative difference eventually will drain life out of our body.
