Hardwork + Luck = Getting really rich
Im curious to see if anyone else here consciously seeks ways to improve their chances of something lucky happening to them, and what they do.
Here are a couple of examples of things I have done to improve my chances of "getting lucky".
> Getting heavily involved in the financial markets
--- There have been many stories of people getting lucky in the markets and making loads of money, but to be exposed to the chance of getting lucky in the markets, you need to be actively following the markets. You are not as exposed to this potential to "get lucky from the markets" if your working some full time job.
--- Being here I am exposed to the chance of picking up great information related to trading from other traders. I dont get that chance if Im watching TV.
--- Being a friendly and approachable person offers me the opportunity to meet much more people which gives me a higher chance of having someone offer me the "job of a lifetime" (read pornstar), a business proposal or give me extremely helpful advice.
> An interest in everything
--- Makes it easier to get a conversation happening with random people
Here are some other things I would consider if I started a business.
> Actively seek friends in the media
> Go public with my company (Steve jobs, the Google brothers and Bill Gates wouldn't be so rich if they ran a private company).
> Travel around (see how similar businesses in different country's run)
So over to you, how do you put yourself in a position so that your chances of "getting lucky" improve?
