I'm new to the site but have been doing alot of reading throught these pages over the last couple of months. I do have a few questions that i am having a hard time finding answers to that i'm hoping you can help me out with. I'm just about to hit the trading game and will be starting out trading asx shares only.
Firstly, i'm considering running with either etrade pro or power as my trading platform. I'm estimating trading anywhere between 5-25 trades per month so it should work out cost effective, but what i need to know is is it possible to switch between the two platforms at your desire or are you locked into only one of the platforms based on which one you choose when signing up?? I'm unsure as to which one i'd prefer as i've only been able to sample power at this stage.
Secondly, if i choose to up my trading and decide to go with something like IB, is there any contracts that you are bound to with etrade or any fees that need to be paid out to cancel the service??
Thirdly, how advanced are the charting tools of these two programs when compared to something like Megastock?? I've been trialing the power platform recently (the pro free trial isn't working) and it seems to have most of the features i think i'll need, but i'd like to know if there is anything major that would be of use to me shortly that i'd be missing out on.
Thanks in advance for your help.
