The skies falling in, the skies falling in.
Does anyone else believe that gloom breeds gloom. I believe that if tomorrow it was announced on Reuters that there was not going to be a recession and that everything was fine the market would start to return to "norm"
There is a paragraph in the "The riches man from Babylon" about a man selling goods he is told by a passerby that things are not looking good and that people will stop spending money the trader closes his business because he believes the passerby and not his own experience.
I'm not saying complacency is the answer but if we all shut up shop and stop spending then there will be a recession.
What would happen if we all went along as usual, I don't mean buy-now-pay later purchases but maybe putting things on layby (my god do you remember how that works) you put money on a item and pay it off then it's YOURS yes yours now, not in 5yrs. I know this is a slower way of kick starting the economy but the level of person debt would be better and you'd think seriously before purchasing instead of impulse buying. Hey now I'm showing my age.
Hell when I was 18 there's no way I was going to wait for my new TV, I put it on Radio Rentals, rent now pay 3times as much scheme it was great until 4yrs later I worked out that I could have bought 3 TVs for the price I paid for 1. Arrr old heads on young shoulders. Always wanted to know what my grandmother ment by that. Now I know.
