I am not too familiar with them be honest.. other than the basics. I assume they take your money and invest it in various property projects to give you a higher return than say just cash?
Do they invest mainly in commercial or residential projects ? Do they provide a capital base for funding for our smaller mortgage lenders for things such as Lo-doc loans?
With record redemption, and the government effectively screwing them up, what is the short and long-term effect of this?
Will building projects find it hard to get funding? Will there be shorter-term immediate effects?
What happens to retirees or potential retirees who can no longer make withdrawals from the frozen funds? Surely this is pretty serious for them if they do not have a source of regular income they may rely on?
Many questions here, just wondering the implications of all this.
