    Default EOD data vendors

I am looking for a vendor to supply EOD data in a format that I can import into AmiBroker. I am not after any fancy software, I just want to be able to download a plain and simple text file.

I have been looking at Cooltrader but before I sign up I thought I would ask here if anyone has any thoughts, suggestion or recommendations on selecting a supplier?

    Thanks in advance,

    John

If you are serious about trading then you need good quality data. JustData or Norgate PremiumData would be my choices. Download in MS format then simply use the MS plugin to access the data, no need to import any files in.

I use Premium Data from Norgate and its the best i've ever used. Its priced quite reasonably too in my view. You can set it up to manually start the download or go auto if you want.

    Very simple, very clean data.

    Cheers,

    Someone mentioned clean data.
    What makes data dirty?
And is that site float.com.au not ideal?.....it's free, isn't it?

    Ditto- Premium Data

The way their data is setup for Amibroker is second to none.

Ditto Premium Data as well. I also use it for FX, futures and US/ETFs. Well worth the money.

Hope someone can help. My EOD provider gives me my data in a Metastock ASCII file. The whole ASX is in one file. I have manged to convert this into Metastock format through the Downloader programme. I can open a chart with one day's data in it. So far so good. How do I add each day's data to the ASX file or to put it simply how to I update the file. I have created a folder named ASX under the C:\\MetastockData area. Any help appreciated from this newby.

    I use Paritech.

One click and its downloaded as Metastock data into ASX, A,B, etc, Sectors, Indices, Warrants, Options, Interest rate securities,Metals...all on ASX only, and also World and ASX Indices.

$352 per annum and no time wasted with fiddling and foldering.

    And its tax deductible.

The old "one-click" data imports are just great, Paritech, Norgate etc. So easy.

But, if you haven't got that there may be a couple of things to try.

I don't know if this could of any help to you Rod, but IFocus provided some nice instructions on using the Downloader to get data into Metastock
on this thread: Free ASX data feeds for Metastock etc? Post number 18 in that thread.

I hope that link works, I have been having some horrors getting links to work lately.

Also, there are some good instructions on this vendor's website:
    http://www.cooltrader.com.au/dloadata/dlms.php

Two very good replies and I will check them both out. Once I figure out how Metastock thinks I will be fine. But it is frustrating watching all the videos on YouTube with all the exciting stuff you can do with the charts and you buy the programme pay for the data get the books and Whamo nothing works or should I say I haven’t learned how to work it yet. Input from here is invaluable.

    Thanks Again
