I am looking at setting up a small biodiesel production plant at home for producing my own fuel. Any hints would be appreciated.
I have found the plans of a simple unit I can fabricate myself. I have a formula that is supposed to work.It is 250 parts of veggie oil (second hand deep frying oil) 50 parts of methanol and 1 part caustic soda. To me the methanol portion seems too high and will make the cost higher than I expected. Does anyone have a better formula.
At $1.70 a litre for diesel fuel and looking at shortages it looks a proposition.
