Default Technical analysis - useful for all instruments?

Most of the information I read about technical analysis seems to be written about share trading.

Is there any reason why the same principles would not work in other markets for example futures trading?

My opinion is a chart is a chart apply the same technical analysis to all markets.
But paper trade and backtest 1st every new market. Until you have proved it works...Dont take anyones word for it.
I have only traded shares and fx .., Futures appears like a good idea for currencies which are regulated unlike the unregulated CFD market.

Read your futures contract carefully as they expire and your wife may not be pleased with say 10,000kg of wheat sitting in your front yard! As some are for the delivered product!
