I think news helps with creating momentum. When they're talking constantly about a particular stock or group of stocks, (especially if its bad news about the company), then I watch the stock more closely see if theres any plays on it. When the ORCL and PSFT acquisition/non-acquisition(LOL) was heavily in the news, this created a lot of momentum for bullish trades ;) :2twocents
