I am planning to open an Etrade account. I am in no rush and I am wondering if anyone could tell me where and if there are any special deals out there on opening a new Etrade account. I remember at one stage they were offering $500 worth of transactions.
Cheers

Dont bother with Etrade.
I wanted to open an account with them so i could use power etrade, sent in application form on November 7th.
By as late as December 12th, i wasnt up and running.
Technical problems so they claimed. I spoke to about 4 different people and they gave me 3 different trading passwords. All didnt work.
All etrade did for me was waste my time.
I will apply for Morrisons Securities.
Etrade brokerage is $32.95. Theirs is $20 and a REAL PERSON picks up the phone.

If you want to consider that "a REAL PERSON picks up the phone" then you should also look at Avcol @ sub $20....

Are there any fees associated with Morrison Securities and Avcol? What are their phone numbers and website?
Thanks

I compared my current Commsec account fee with Morrison Securities and Avcol and came to the conclusion that :
AVCOL IS BETTER EXCEPT FOR TRANSACTION BETWEEN $30000 and $55000
AND MORRISON IS BETTER FOR TRANSACTION > $50000
Sounds like I might open an account with Morrison. Do you happen to know if I can transfer all my shares with a value >$50000 to Morrison and sell them under the Morrison account when I am ready to do so. I am asking that as they request to be Broker sponsored and my current broker is Commsec , can I have then 2 brokers ?
