Hi,

I am sick of ****ing commsec always kicking me out with a system error. What do other people use? How much is brokerage if it is coupled to commbank margin loan?

Thanks,
Mark.

I'm sure you're upset with Comsec and probably have a valid reason but I don't know if you should use such language.

One reason I use these forums is because it has maintained a certain standard. I'd hate to see that change.

But this is just my opinion, I wonder what the others (and Joe) think?

BTW, The title asterix don't appear on the homepage.

I have switched back on the auto censoring option of this software.

I understand how easy it is to get frustrated and angry when things aren't going your way but please, no obscene language on Aussie Stock Forums.

Thanks!

Mark,

I use Commsec daily (and often from different PC's via different ISP's) and don't have any problems at all. Is this only a recent occurrence?

Rod.

Hi,

Hi Mark,

Does it say it's a system error, or is it the Your account has been inactive... msg even you last accessed the site 10 seconds ago? I phoned them about the "inactive" thing, and it turns out there's a time limit of 20 minutes per login. I think I've been on longer than that sometimes, and I'm certain it's kicked me out in less than 20 minutes at other times - presumably it changes with number of users at any one time.

It annoys me too, but not enough to change.

My apologies for offending people with my language.

What happens is that I log in, and before the page is completely loaded, I am kicked out again to the session expired screen (ie 5 seconds after entering login details).

It has been occuring 1-2 times per day in past, but today it happened continuously.

Markrmau,

Have you confirmed that your OS & browser settings are compatible with the commsec site? In the bottom lefthand corner you can check the minimum requirements for commsec - I have a computer at home that wont loan chat or charts on commsec because the browser is the wrong sort and I have difficulty in re-installing a newer one. From discussion with other commsec users, this seems to be a common problem.

Apology accepted! I guess it's easy to say stuff on the spur of the moment.

If it's not the browser incompatibility maybe you need to reload the Comsec software? BUT that may be a problem as you may lose all the settings and data you have so far.

Surely IT support at Comsec would be able to help you if you have a big whinge at them? They are losing money when they don't let you use their service.

Maybe there are some experts in these forums who can pinpoint the problem. Give it a day or two if ComSec doesn't reply and one of our ASF members should help you out (fingers crossed).

Hope it works out without too much more stress- shows how much we depend on technology for trading.

It is hard to tell what is going on with so few details but if it has only started occuring lately and you get disconected imediatley after logging in then the first thing that comes to mind is cookies.

Have you changed your browser settings or deleted cookies or anything in the last few days?

This is probally not the solution but is worth a thought.
