a couple months ago my online broking company changed hands. In the few days after changeover i had all sorts of problems accessing my account.

I faxed a letter to the trading service provider saying that i had made numerous calls, and had continual problems and if i incurred any significant losses due to their failure to provide the service i paid for i would seek further legal advice.

After they recieved that i reakon i had about 10 calls that day from them making sure everything was working fine :)

until then i would have to wait like 30 mins to get through to a operator who couldn't do anything to solve the problems.

The problem is that I switched to Westpac from Comsec after a lot of problems there. ( and I switched to the Com from Nat ) Bl***** banks, the customer is, to them, just one of the things they have to put up with. We must not interfere with their profit.

I did some bricklaying at one of the NAB directors houses some years ago in Camberwell and the reply to me was "ELECTRONIC TRANSACTIONS !!!" So I concluded as we all would "customer? what customer?" even if they pull out the money and shuffle down the street you still do transactions!
He went on to tell me how the UK are so backward and this and that .....yet my friend brought out his family this August for their holidays and he was amazed as to how I was trading at home in my office!

Constable I find their market research handy when I bother to use it but it's pretty stock standard available info. What I find hard to fathom/use is there portfolio page, the only time it makes any sense is if you stop trading for a week. I use ASXs' free portfolio/ users page so I can keep track. With all the trading I've done in the last month & with all the hiccups & crashes at Pacdup I'm worried they've lost my gains in a glitch & I've got no way of checking without as I said, stopping trading for a week. :banghead:

Out too soon, I have had a bit of a look around ASX site for the free portfolio could you steer me in the right direction. I am with Westcr*p too and it bugs me too.

Just register for MYASX then go straight to watchlists & away you go.
My system is, as soon as I rx an email confirmation of an order from Pestpac I update my portfolio watchlist on MYASX, I was lucky to have stumbled on it 15 months ago when I started trading. :)
TRYING TO TRADE USING WESTCR*PS SYSTEM IS LIKE TRYING TO CATCH FISH BY HAND :banghead:
You can have up to 20 watchlists, (with MYASX) so as well as your portfolio you can have lists of stocks you use to own & lists of stocks you are interested in. Dead simple to use & totally no strings attached. It's in ASXs interest to have ppl trading shares so they provide this great free service. I would be totally lost without "MYASX". :)

I have the same problem. I have been told you can opt out of the contra system with them and settle using BPay. If you trade most days it is almost impossible to draw funds as they contra the oldest credit first.

Just had a look at the asx portfolio tool and not sure how that is going to show you if westpac have stuffed up or not???

It does not show past trades etc? Does it?

I find I have to do a lot of checking up on my ledger balance to make sure they have added it up porperly. It is really more hassle than it is worth.

Oh Well soon enuff I should be with a new provider.

Just don't like comsec's limit of 7.5k credit for non-top stocks.

Well I thought yesterday I fluffed up on my timing of accounts.I forgot to ring my cash management a/c @ UBS ,where the cut off time to transfer money (without extra costs) is midday. So I rang Westpac and they where kind enough to advance me a days credit. Not much I know but like me I do multiple trades per day ,each transaction would have cost me $75 penalty on settlement day. I can live with their generousity.................
Now back to bitching on monday....I'll scratch their bloody eyes out if I see those penalty payments on my accounts! G'nite from a tired trader its taken hours to solve the accounts for this week.................... ooooh saw the mention re Portfolio tools .......geeeee talk about simple tools....too much frigging around ,I get tired when computershare send me documents in the post and I have sold the share after holding them for 24 hours or less.....I suppose the extra paperwork keeps my fires burning!

As frustrating as its been these last two weeks their staff have been very quick to offer compensation in one form or another. I guess they have copped plenty for the system failure. If you can get onto the site it takes 5 minutes to refresh your screen! Make sure you print the relevant doc's you need, most branches won't have it ready and will take 20mins for them to do it, if they will do it at all.

All you need to print is the forms at the end that you need to sign.

I have three applications logged on (Firefox, IE and Quotetracker)
-- maybe this is the problem

Are there other users have the same problem of being forced to login again?
I've had no problems with westpac today using internet explorer.

You can't have quotetracker on while you are logged in to westpac broking. They don't allow multiple log ins.

I stop quotetracker from logging in when I log into westpac.

Wow I didn't realise so many people have had bad experiences with Westpac Broking. I was previewing orders on August 14th last month and their stupid system had put an order through for me which I strictly did not submit, I checked my e-mail the next day to find out a contract had gone through - I mean wtf is this...

I have a e-mail from their system which has a contract price of 20000 BBP shares at 0.50c yet in the attached contract it has the share price at 20000 BBP @ 0.495c I asked them why there was a price discrepency between the e-mail subject price and the contract price and they gave me some answer (which I think is BS) that their system rounds the price to 2 decimal places.

I was wondering if any could help me by just posting or pming me or e-mailing me at bryaneasy@gmail.com some trades around August 14th 2008 where the e-mail subject price of a contract is more than 2 decimal places. If I find out they are lying to me I will be taking them to court definately.

If anyone could please help me that would be great because when I get back to Australia in December I will be seriously thinking about taking these guys to court I just need to grab some solid proof. Also the other day I was on their broking page and I didn't click any buttons and it took me to their futures section on the website.... very buggy and their stupid system has cost me $8000....
