but what charting\stock selections software are we all using?
Most importantly, I like Gann if possible, so some of his indicators would be good.
Ease of use would be good, cost doesnt really matter, so long as its good
Thanks all,
Brent

28.8k dial up?
Good god, man! How slow is this site at that speed? How long does it take to load the main page?
If you ever win the Stock tipping competition I'm buying you a new modem instead of a year's subscription to personal investor!

Morning,
Yes on a good day I get 31.2kb. At least an hour and a half for the 14 Mb download, had to stop it, as I was knackered. Will try again tonight No ADSL for us, too far from the exchange.

Brent

BrentCan't you get get a 56k modem? They're cheap as chips and would almost double your current speed.

Hi again,
I have a V90 56k modem, the fastest speed I can get through my phone line is 31.? kb per second.
This is what the other half of Australia has to live with. Every time I hear/see people complaining about their broadband connection taking 3 weeks to get connected up, I just have to bite my tongue.

PS Do you use any software to help you pick likely trades?

Damn, that's as fast as you can get with a 56K modem?! I feel for you... downloading large files must drive you up the wall!
I guess you'll have to wait until you can get satellite broadband for a reasonable price! Let's hope MUL come through on their promises! ;)
Have a good weekend!

Yeah I use MetaStock and love it. Can recommend to everybody with its only downside being its cost.

I'm using AmiBroker, which I find very good. It's pretty cheap too as far as these programs go.
I'm a programmer by profession though, and am currently spending quite a bit of time trying to develop a trading system using their scripting language and a plugin DLL I'm writing. Their plugin interface allows me to do pretty much anything I want in my DLL, but of course that's not much use if you're not a programmer or don't want to go to that amount of effort :D.
Even without that though, I still think it's a pretty good program for the price.
Cheers,
GP

Thank you all,
Bit worried about buying at the top now. May watch and see for a while. Or buy another house.
