Hi all,
I'm very new to stocks and just found the following website and wonder if ANY one has used their service.

http://www.*********************/

I'm skeptical about it in two ways:
1. If they can provide such accurate information they should be making millions of money - why bother hanging on to a website which requires maintenance and extra work providng tips to OTHER people? (i don't believe there are true charity in this business)

2. A possible reason to build such a site that directs people, is to use this "herd" (their customers folowing the advice) to manipulate the stock market as the more customers they get the more money "flows" on the stock market in the way they wish. And that gives them convenience ... in many ways.

Just a few thoughts on it. Again I'm NEW and welcome any oppinion/correction/criticism :engel:

Cheers,
YC

Friend there are heaps (dozens and dozens) of sites offering advice, tips and strategies etc. Do yourself a big favour go to your local library and look for some books on online investing, sharemarket trading strategies and technical analysis you will usually find a heap by D.Guppy - as good as any to get the basics. Spend some time reading and rereading and then you may be able to spot a rose in the chit. Some of these could socalled investment sites could cost a fair bit in subscriptions and offer no more advice then what you could pick up for free by just using the resource at your fingertips - your keyboard and the net. Do you want to make a quick buck or are you looking longterm. With some recommendations from some sites you could be waiting a very long time I cant believe how wrong some can be especially with the way the market has been the last 18 months - good luck Brer

Hi Brer,

Thanks for the advice... I am basically looking at different options in investing and am quite new in each one... though more familiar with properties since I've been reading on it for a few months.

I'll be looking at short-medium term since long term i'll definitely prefer property. The liquidity of stocks do give me more benefit compared to other forms of investments, not to mention I'll wait for a while before going into the property market (after boom).

However stock trading has not left me very good impression. When I was young I remember lots of people simply follow "insiders' tips" when buying stocks which I refer to as a kind of superstition. And when I grow bigger people start analyzing stats and trends and charts/figures and I honestly don't know what they can get out of it and how many people actually get overwhelmed by the complexity and fall into another kind of superstition. I only hope from reading and talking to people on investors in forums like this I'll get more idea if stock trading can really viably help me achieve my goals.

No offence, just observation from a pure newbie who's eager to learn more.

BTW, I also use a Mouse and a Brain when doing research :D

Cheers,
YC

On its face it looked ok enough to me. They have too many words in bold to be taken entirely seriously and who knows whether their advice is worth 2 cents, but I didn't think they were pretending to give something for nothing.

But as Brerwallabi says, there's a huge amount of free information available, both about individual stocks and about principles and techniques. Your local library might be even more useful than your mouse.

For starters, sort out for yourself what you mean by investing and what you mean by trading. As a newbie, I've found that I got really confused if I tried to do both at the same time.

Good luck,

Ghoti

I just saw the advertorial on TV the other night.

It had a new convert: Moira (the advertorial chick) from Bert Newton's GMA.
She's fully plugging the system...

As with all programs, it probably does work - all it needs is a little passion, determination etc... which all can be achieved reading books etc...
