Hi all,

I am new to this site so please be gentle with me :o

Done a forum search and came up with very little so here goes:
I am trying to find historical INTRADAY data (as against end of day) for the top 20 ASX stocks.
I have plenty of historical end-of-day data, however I am specifically looking for 5 minute intraday historical data.

Anyone capture this kind of info?
Currently I have full 5 min data back 6 months but want to extend that back even further at least 2-3 years if possible.

Any help much appreciated.

Finally found ASX intraday data from a company called MarketCast
Ph: 1300 655 818
www.marketcast.com.au
sales@marketcast.com.au

They sell the ASX tick data back to 2000.
Cost is about $250 per year of data with discounts depending upon the number of years you get.

The data does need to be massaged into a form that is usable by Metastock or other charting programs but with a few Unix or cygwin tools it is not too hard to do (can't do it in Excel unfortunately - there are too many rows for it to handle).

If anyone is interested I can show them how to do it.

Too late on the edit macca ;)
The forum sends out the body of the original post...

As you realised you can't extrapolate inwards if you like to find out what happened during the day and as they say the devil is in the details from what I have discovered about how I can trade profitably.

Does anybody know what happened to these guys?
(Market cast)

It seems the link (website) is not working and has been so for the last few days.

They got sold about 3 times and then finally got closed down a few months back. They had too many problems with the SBS signal and couldn't compete with the internet I believe. A lot of their customers stayed with the MarketTools (http://www.markettools.com.au/) charting software but switch to Bourse as their data provider.

Found a new supplier for ASX tick data - bit expensive relative to the now defunct MarketCast guys: $465 per year or $885 per 2 yrs.
