Hi Guys,

I'm fairly new to technical analysis and my friend recommended I start using PhoenixAI

http://www.phoenixai.com.au/

I also had a look online for other charting packages and found a program called metastock which looks a little pricey, I also found Amibroker and other free web based packages out there like Big charts and Incredible charts.

I was just wondering if anyone has used PhoenixAI and another charting software package like the ones above and can compare them for me.

Which software packaged do you like the best and why?
Which package gives you better value? etc.

Thanks :-)

Never heard of Phoenix before but I can highly recommend Amibroker and Incredible charts.

You probably need to decide want you want out of your charting package before deciding on what to purchase. I started with indredible charts as a basic package for a reasonable price but as my trading developed I needed a more advanced program like Amibroker to provide my own customized indicators & scans which I could backtest etc etc.

Here is a quick search of this site for amibroker (http://www.aussiestockforums.com/forums/search.php?searchid=2402363), as you can see there are a few threads on it.

Hi all, wondering if anyone is using Phoenix AI, & have any opinions they would like to share.

Ive been using Incredible Charts for sometime but am looking for a package that can do a bit more - I dont necessarily believe back testing is essential but wouldn't mind having that option, which it appears Phoenix AI provides.

& of course dont want to spend a small fortune in the process;)
