I wanted to ask members what thier home page is set as (when you click Internet Explorer - the page that comes up)?
I previously had my ISP as my home page (which has all sorts of stuff like news, weather, sport, email and loads of other useless crap) but have found by changing it to tradingroom.com.au I am much more focused and do not aimlessley surf the net, so as soon as I double click I am straight into the information that really matters to me.
So what is your home page?

Ummm, the default Lynx homepage (which happens to be the help page) or http://10.1.10.16/default.php (a custom generated page with feeds taken from a number of sites) depending which O/S i'm using at the time.

Mine is set to yahoo.co.uk, firstly 'cos I am a Pom and secondly because the way the market is at the moment, I have half an hour before going to work to see how the Dow has done via the finance part of yahoo and decide whether to place an order. If the Dow has done poorly no way will I trade that day.I suppose I use yahoo because it is familiar and I can navigate around it quickly, which is what I need as I am not a morning person.

I usually have 3 copies of Internet Explorer running at the one time so no homepage (about:blank) as I would be a bit of a nuisance. I use www.kitco.com to get a quick view of the markets but then I'm probably more currency and oil focused than most (it has the major share indexes too though).

I use Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/) and its allows you to load a few pages as tabs
Much safer browsing than IE, although do have problems posting links here when replying to threads
Also has some add ons where you can get stock tickers to run across the bottom of the status bar
As for pages, I use Ino.com to get details of FX, commodity and US indices, I run a page that I made to track the daily gold and silver charts, then I have a few forums set up for the other tabs

bvbfan... the keyboard equivalent to 'paste' is ctrl-v. I was having the same troubles as you with Firefox until someone put me onto this technique.
Your cut and paste problems are over! :)

It's not the cut and paste thats the problem, but making it a hyperlink using the hyperlink button. The button just wont work sometimes

bvbfan, just cutting and pasting the URL into the message area should work.
FYI, here is some more info about BB code, the markup code this forum software uses: http://www.aussiestockforums.com/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode
Hope you find it useful.

I use Firefox version 1.0.7 as my browser,(this is the latest version and better still then the first) I have done for a couple of years now -my home page is the SMH but I also have another six tabs on screen including ASF. For those using boring explorer try Firefox so many more options and you can customise your browser and getting it looking hotter then Elle Mcpherson.
Try this link to Mozilla where you can download Firefox - you won't regret it if you do.

They are very generous with their free market info.
I also have the google toolbar active as I do probably 20-30 searches a day.
