Midday Pre-Open?

Beginners questions -

Why do companies go pre-open, midday, after opening like usual on a normal trade day. for example ADY right now... has gone into pre-open.

Is this normally announcements being made?

Yes, this is normal, especially with complex announcements. The temporary trading halt allows time to read and analyse the notice.
