No result as yet on my tax case. However in the meantime is anybody interested in my new "tipping" service? Basically I will be shortly setting up a tipping service that will comprise of daily tips on what stocks to buy and sell on the day, stocks to buy short term and also stocks to hold long term. All stock tips will include a target buy(low) as well as a target sell(high)Together with these, subscribers will also receive horse/greyhound/trot tips daily as well as sporting selections for all sports.
Incorporated in this service will be a regular all up which will be in the form of a treble eg. Parramatta to beat Souths, all up into Rce 3 No. 4 Moonee Valley Racing. Final leg ****nal to beat Bolton in the English Premier League Soccer.
All the above will be emailed exclusively to each subscriber upon the daily ASX opening(10:00-10:08). Weekend tips for horses/greyhounds/trots and sports will be emailed Saturday morning.
The cost of this service will be minimal and I am considering a 30 day money back guarantee.

I would have thought battling one government department was hard enough. Now you want to take on ASIC as well? ;)

Well it comes down to interpretation. Is tipping classified as advice? Is day trading gambling? Are the news paper tipsters in the form guide and financial columns giving financial advice?, or just their opinions?

I agree about the ASIC issue- you need a licence to give financial advice from what I understand.
Roofus, I've enjoyed your posts and wish you well with the tax battle but it's best to run this one by Joe (Administrator) before going any further- please see the forum code of conduct, especially about commercial offers.
I may be interested in your tips but you'll have to see what Joe says first before we go on.

Hi Roofus,
I had a feeling you might say something like that! Point taken. Eitherway you still need to check with Joe, here's the link to the code of conduct: http://www.aussiestockforums.com/forums/code.html

That's the spirit Roofus!
Good luck with your 'gambling' service (he he he). I have no idea how you find the time to day trade profitably while fighting the ATO and providing tips- they must have trained you well in the Army!

Roofus,
Good on you for looking to push the limits. I agree with you on many fronts, but will wait for more information (projected fees, free trial periods, samples etc) before commiting one way or another.
If nothing else it'll provide insight in to your trading (oh wait, we're meant to say gambling now) methodology.

I'm going to close this thread because I don't want to encourage more threads along these lines (in accordance with clause nine of the code of conduct), but I have given Roofus permission to mention his proposed service in his signature.
